New Development – 200mm High-flux LED Traffic Signal

Image
We are glad to announce we have developed new version of our high-power LED lights  modules. This traffic signal – 200mm sized – is being applied commonly at junctions and provides traffic signaling. As you can see from the table below we replaced 6 LEDs with 3 high-flux surface mount type LEDs which are supplied by Nichia, Japan. They deliver higher light intensity while keeping low wattage. This type of LEDs will provide higher intensity and thus better performance at traffic lighting application. Furthermore, it is energy efficient traffic light as the light modules consume no more 9W for green, and 7W for yellow and red. As the best led manufacturers , we have the best quality led lights  for sale. Old version 200mm Color Amount Intensity Power Wavelength Red 6 LEDs 250cd 7w 622 ~ 628 Yellow 6 LEDs 410cd 7w 585 ~ 590 Green 6 LEDs 300cd 9w 500 ~ 506 New version 200mm Color Amount Intensity Power Wavelength R...

The Difference Between Pelican Crossing and Puffin Crossing

Image
LanguageEnglish Pelican Crossings Pelican Crossings(Previously named Pedestrian Light Controlled Crossing) means that the flow of traffic is controlled by traffic lights. which is different from zebra crossings. At the pelican crossings, The traffic Signal will be changed after a timed delay by pressing pedestrian button. In general, it appears in a straight line or straggered road. If the pelican crossing goes straight across the road then you would treat it as one crossing even if it has a central refuge. If the crossing is straggered and not in line then the crossings are treated as seperate. Puffin Crossings Puffin Crossings(Pedestrian User-Friendly Intelligent Crossings) look very similar to pelican crossings. But no sensors are on top of the traffic lights. These sensors detect if pedestrian are crossing slowly and can hold the red traffic light longer if needed. These do not a flashing amber light as part of it's sequence and phase like normal traffic ligh...

LED Traffic Countdown Signals

Image
What are the benefits of countdown signals? LED countdown timers are useful accessory to enhance safety and diminish undesirable behaviour of drivers and other road users. They indicate the time remaining until red or green phase and thus positively contribute to better orientation and less risky behaviour of all road users at junctions. For instance, countdown timers at red lights warning drivers how much time is left before the light changes can help to ease traffic flow. It was found that the presence of the countdown timers at the intersection would help to reduce the start-up lost time at the beginning of the green phase by 22%, and reduce the number of red-light violations during the beginning of the red phase by 50%. Furthermore, more than half of the local drivers reported that the timers help to relieve the frustration caused by stopping for uncertain amounts of time during the red phase. The research has shown that after a period o...

Spanish Intelligent Zebra Crossing Realizes Traffic Light Conversion According to Pedestrian Flow

Image
LanguageUndefined [Sinowatcher Technology] According to ABC Spanish Daily report on June 2, Spainish city Valladolid first put intelligent zebra crossing into use. This technology can monitor the number of pedestrian instantaneity to realize intelligent conversion of traffic signals, providing convenience for pedestrians who are waiting to cross the street. It is revealed by the mayor of Valladolid, this technology is the world advanced. Intelligent zebra crossing can be achieved by automatic regulatory system of lights and four heat-sensing cameras which can monitor the flow of pedestrian together. When camera monitored that at least 17 pedestrians are waiting to cross the street in intersection, the traffic signal will automatically turns green, which is convenient for pedestrian. According to mayor of Valladolid, this technology has been in trial operation in two main streets for about one and half moth in the city, making pedestrians spend less time (21%) crossing the st...

The Advantages of LED Traffic Lights

Image
Currently, the super bright LED bulbs  have replaced incandescent lamps as traffic lights, warning lights, sign lights all over the world. Compared with incandescent lamps, LED traffic lights   have the advantages of low power consumption, long life span, and higher brightness, which makes them an ideal light source for traffic signal lighting. 1. Good visibility: LED traffic lights in continuous light, rain, dust and other harsh weather conditions, can still maintain good visibility and performance. LED emit monochromatic light, which does not require the use of color film to produce red, yellow, green color signal; besides, the light emitted by LED has a certain divergence angle and directivity , which can be used instead of the traditional signal aspheric mirrors. These features of LED lights solve the phantom (known as false shown) and color film fading problems in traditional non-LED traffic lights and improve the light efficiency. 2. Saving energy: Lower...

How Traffic-Actuated Signals Work

Image
Actuated signals work like this: Some sort of detector at the intersection registers whether or not there is a car at the intersection. Fully-actuated signals have detectors on all of the approaches and semi-actuated signals only have detectors at some of the approaches. When the detector registers a vehicle and transfer information the controller and the controller registers the need for the phase to be serviced, or have the right of way. When this phase is in service, it retains the right of way for a minimum time and additional time can be given if more cars are detected during the green light. This additional time is called the passage time. If there is enough traffic, extensions (in the form of passage time) will be added to the phase up to some set maximum green time. However, if another call is not received during the green time, the phase will end. This is known as the gap out. The cycle then progresses based on calls received during the previous cycle. The signal controll...
